Santa Fe announced a 2016 season yesterday. Patricia Racette sings Minnie in La Fanciulla del West. Daniel Okulitch sings the title role of Don Giovanni with Leah Crocetto, Isabel Leonard and Rhian Lois. Amanda Majeski and Susan Graham star in Capriccio. Erin Wall is Vanessa in Barber's opera.

The 2016 season at San Diego Opera was announced today and consists of two Puccini works and the West Coast premiere of Jake Heggie's latest opera. Greer Grimsley, Latonia Moore, Ferruccio Furlanetto, and Patricia Racette return to San Diego Opera. Important Company debuts include those by Teodor Ilincăi, Alexia Voulgaridou, Isabel Leonard, Nathan Gunn, Frederica von Stade, Gwyn Hughes Jones, Joyce El-Khoury, and J'Nai Bridges. Returning conductors are Massimo Zanetti, Yves Abel and Joseph Mechavich.

Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra's 2015-2016 season was announced today. The soloists for the Scarlatti are Suzana Ograjensek, Diana Moore, Clint van der Linde, Nicholas Phan, and Douglas Williams. The soloists for Messiah are Amanda Forsythe, Meg Bragle, Isaiah Bell, and Tyler Duncan. PBO will also tour major North American concert halls in Spring 2016 with guest artists Anne-Sofie von Otter and Andreas Scholl.

René Pape is Philip II in Don Carlo. Karita Mattila is Kostelnička in Jenůfa.

Seattle Opera announced the 2015-2016 season today, the first for new General Director Aidan Lang. The company returns to full-year programming with six operas, including a world premiere by Jack Perla.

WNO Ring 2016

Nina Stemme photo by Tanja NiemannWashington National Opera just announced principal casting and performance dates for its first complete presentation of Wagner's Ring cycle. Three full cycles will be presented from April 30 to May 22, 2016 and will be directed by Francesca Zambello and conducted by Philippe Auguin.

Nina Stemme (pictured left, photograph by Tanja Niemann) and Catherine Foster share the role of Brünnhilde. Daniel Brenna sings Siegfried in the United States for the first time. Alan Held is Wotan. Subscription packages will be available Spring 2015.
